There are two fireworks shows on the night of December 31st. The family fireworks event starts at 9 p.m. and the New Year is announced with another display at midnight. The best place in the world to see these shows is right in the middle of Sydney Harbour. The banks of the harbour shoot up a crown of fireworks all around you. Everywhere you look you’ll see colour and feel the boom as the fireworks are set off on rooftops, barges and bridges.
